DIY Essentially Pure Laundry Detergent

We all love saving money right? Well I just drastically cut down on some regular monthly expenses and it was super easy!! I made a 5 gallon bucket of laundry detergent with 5 simple ingredients. This cost under $10 and will last at least 160 loads! If you do 10 loads a week, like we do in our full house, this will last 4 months. That's under $2.50 a month WOW!!

What you'll need:

1 1/2 Cup Super Washing Soda

3 Cups Baking Soda

1 1/2 Cups Liquid Castile Soap

1/2 Cup (more if desired) of an all natural cleaner infused with essential oils (Blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus & Rosemary)

Add Washing Soda to a bucket with enough hot water to dissolve it (approx. 12 cups)

When completely dissolved add the baking soda, stir well.

Add enough water to make 4-5 gallons.

Add 1 1/2 Cups Castile Soap and stir.

Add 1/2 Cup (more if desired) of an all natural cleaner infused with essential oils (Blend of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus & Rosemary) and stir.

Allow to sit overnight and it's ready!

Note: It may get slimy or even chunky (especially if cold). Just give it a stir.

Optional: Add 10-15 drops of your favorite essential oils for a fresh scent. Purification Oil is what we used but a few other favorite are lavender & lemon grass.

We store in a smaller container and give it a little shake with each use. Simply add 1/4 to 1/2 a cup to each load of laundry. This is safe for H.E. Washers.
